First glimpse of the Great Bristol Run medal designs for 2025
Places have fully sold out for the half marathon at this year’s AJ Bell Great Bristol Run (10-11 May), with the popular event set to be bigger than ever for 2025.

Paul Foster, Chief Executive of The Great Run Company, said: “We know runners from near and far look forward to taking part in the Great Bristol Run every year and with its welcoming, high-energy atmosphere – and fantastic route – we’re not surprised to see the half marathon sell out so early and the 10k soon to follow.
“If you’ve missed out on a half marathon entry, there’s still a chance to sign up to raise funds for a brilliant cause or you can get involved in the action by taking part in the 10k while places last.”
The news comes as the Great Run Company reveals the medal design for this year’s half marathon and 10k events. Front and centre is one of the iconic towers from the Clifton Suspension Bridge, while lines radiate out to represent every step of the challenge – 10 for the 10k and 13 for the half marathon.
The back of the medal displays a trail of landmarks, streets and sights from the route.
“Whether you’re going for distance, speed or your first-ever finish line, this medal is a reminder of what you’ve achieved, in true Bristol style,” added Paul.
New for younger runners
Places are also being snapped up for the first ever Junior & Mini event for younger runners. Minis (3-8 year-olds) will enjoy a 1.5km dash and Juniors (aged 8-15) will take on their own 2.5k challenge. Both start and finish at College Green, with a fun city centre route including on-course music and entertainment.
The Great Bristol Run is partnering with Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal, the dedicated charity for Bristol Children’s Hospital, to host the Junior & Mini event.
This year’s AJ Bell Great Bristol Run also includes the fifth annual Visually Impaired 10k Challenge, the UK’s first dedicated race for blind and partially sighted runners.

Well known for its inclusive, buzzing atmosphere, the crowds of supporters – together with live music and entertainment throughout the course – the AJ Bell Great Bristol Run draws runners from a range of ages, backgrounds and abilities.
