A reminder that the Local Elections are taking place this Thursday 2 May.

 

Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm. If you can’t remember your polling station, you can find it here: https://www.bristol.gov.uk/council-and-mayor/voting-and-elections/polling-stations 

 

In Brislington West, you will be able to vote for TWO local councillors to represent you at City Hall, as well as a Police and Crime Commissioner. Of course, we hope you will choose to vote for both of us to be your councillors once again. 

 

It has been an honour and privilege to represent you since 2021. We have worked hard all year round, not just at election time! We have dealt with over 700 pieces of casework and knocked on over 3,000 doors, listening to local residents and your concerns and representing you at City Hall. 

 

We have a proven record of success fighting for Brislington, including helping to save Jubilee Pool and Wick Road Library, promoting our local shops and businesses, protecting and enhancing our green spaces, and campaigning against Labour’s destructive Callington Road Link. We also won a referendum on the Mayoral System and campaigned successfully to Scrap the Mayor. 

 

But every vote counts and your vote could be the difference between our winning and losing. Brislington West is hotly contested between the Liberal Democrats and Labour, with the Lib Dems winning the most votes in the 2021 Local Elections and Labour coming a close second. The Green Party and the Conservatives were a distant third and fourth and cannot win here. 

 

Over the past three years we have been a voice for you at City Hall against a wasteful administration that does not listen, dodges scrutiny and has failed to deliver. If you vote for us, we promise to commit to six core missions:

The best chance you have of keeping Labour out of Brislington West and ending their stranglehold on the Council is by using your vote and voting for Cllr Jos Clark and Cllr Andrew Varney as your experienced and strong voices at City Hall, and your community champions here in Brislington.
