Great Western Air Ambulance Charity to open eleventh shop, its first one on Whiteladies Road
On Tuesday 4 March, Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC) will be opening the doors at 9:30 to its eleventh shop to raise vital funds to keep its lifesaving service operational.
The new shop will be in the heart of Bristol on the popular Whiteladies Road in Clifton.
GWAAC is inviting local shoppers to visit the shop, meet the team and grab a bargain. To celebrate the opening of the shop, GWAAC will be offering a promotion whereby you receive the cheapest item for free when you purchase four or more products.
The Whiteladies Road shop holds special significance for GWAAC as its first shop in Westbury-on-Trym opened just under five years ago, located a stone’s throw from the new shop. The new shop can be found at The Kitchen Partners former showroom at 102 Whiteladies Road, Clifton, Bristol BS8 2QY.

GWAAC’s charity shops provide an array of donated high-quality items while serving as vibrant hubs for community support of the charity’s vital air ambulance service.
“The new shop will help raise awareness of the charity’s lifesaving work in Bristol and raise much-needed funds to keep the crew flying and to ensure that they can continue to be there for those in need. I’m hoping that it will encourage people to shop local and support their high street. It will also mean that GWAAC becomes a household name for the communities we serve.”

The shop will be open from 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Saturday. If you have any good-quality clothing, accessories and bric-a-brac donations that you would like to drop off, please leave them with someone at the shop during the day. GWAAC provides the critical care and air ambulance service for 2.1 million people across Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, North Somerset, and parts of Wiltshire. In 2024, 656 people in Bristol needed GWAAC’s help, making up 29% of GWAAC’s total missions
Bristol was our busiest region, marking our highest number of call-outs there since 2017—a 22% increase compared to 2023. It was also the first time since 2021 that Bristol saw more call-outs in a year than Gloucestershire.
Each call-out costs over £2,200, and the charity needs to raise over £4 million a year in order to remain operational yet receives no day-to-day funding from the Government or National Lottery.
