Bristol Harbourside to host free Dott e-bike and scooter experience day
Dott will take over Bristol’s Lloyds Amphitheatre on Sunday 31 May for a free public event showcasing its new fleet of e-bikes and e-scooters, giving residents the chance to try the vehicles for themselves in a safe, supervised and beginner-friendly setting.
Running from 10am to 4.30pm, the ‘Sunday Funday’ event will feature free test rides, guided first-time rider sessions, interactive challenges and giveaways as part of Dott’s latest push to make sustainable transport more accessible across the West of England.
The event follows the rollout of more than 4,000 new e-bikes and e-scooters across Bristol, Bath and South Gloucestershire through the WEST transport network, backed by a £5 million reinvestment into the region.
Designed to encourage more people to explore greener ways of travelling, the event will include dedicated safety staff, supervised riding areas and family-friendly activities throughout the day.
It also comes just days after Dott announced the launch of “Free Unlock Sundays”, removing unlock fees on Sundays across the region and reducing the cost of an average journey by around 27%, making Sundays the most affordable day to travel using Dott.
Visitors will be able to test Dott’s latest generation e-bikes and e-scooters on a specially managed riding course at the Harbourside, with trained staff on hand to support first-time and inexperienced riders. For more experienced riders, the event will also feature free ride giveaways and the chance to win prizes and Dott merch.
The new vehicles, the first of their kind to launch in the UK, include upgraded safety and comfort features such as larger wheels, improved stability and integrated phone charging.
Timed to coincide with the popular Sunday Harbourside Market, the event is expected to attract hundreds of visitors across the day, including both regular riders and people trying shared micromobility for the first time.
