Abseil from Ashton Gate Stadium for GWAAC

Join former patient Rhiannon as she abseils 75ft from the roof of Ashton Gate Stadium on Sunday 4 May in aid of Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC).

Rhiannon suffered a cardiac arrest at home in Bristol in September 2024. She’s now braving the drop off the Dolman Stand at Ashton Gate Stadium with GWAAC’s Specialist Paramedic in Critical Care, Callum Sutton. Rhiannon is hoping to raise vital funds for GWAAC and she’s encouraging others to do the same.

You can join Rhiannon and experience Ashton Gate Stadium like never before; dare the drop as an individual or as part of a fun team building event. You’ll ascend through the stands and onto the roof of the Dolman Stand before daring to drop down beside the pitch below. All the money raised will go towards keeping GWAAC’s lifesaving critical care and air ambulance service operational across Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, North Somerset, and parts of Wiltshire.

Rhiannon says, “Today I am back at work and enjoying all the things I did before my cardiac arrest, thanks to GWAAC and the quick actions of my husband who found me unresponsive on the floor. I’m looking forward to joining GWAAC’s Dare the Drop in May. For anyone thinking about doing it, it’s just got to be — do it! There’s not going to be a better cause; the air ambulance and everything around it is so important and something people aren’t aware of unless it has touched their lives.”
