£50,000 Donation Supports Youth Development Work at Bristol City Robins Foundation
A donation of £50,000 has been made to the Bristol City Robins Foundation (BCRF) to support its ongoing work with young people aged 14–25 who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET), or who may be at risk of becoming so.
The funding will help sustain tailored mentoring, life skills development and wellbeing support designed to increase confidence and help young people build positive pathways into education, employment and community involvement. The programme aims to provide long-term, practical support to those facing barriers during a key stage in life.
BCRF is the official charity of Bristol City Football Club, working across the city to deliver education, health, inclusion and football development programmes. Its youth support initiatives use the connection of sport and club identity to engage participants who may feel isolated or disengaged.
The donation was formally acknowledged at Ashton Gate Stadium, with representatives from the Robins Foundation and Bristol South MP Karin Smyth in attendance. The funding follows confirmation that the Foundation’s NEET programme has been extended for a further two years, enabling continued support for young people across the region.
The donor organisation, the Persimmon Foundation, provides funding nationally for projects related to education, community development and social wellbeing. In recent years, it has contributed to a range of charities and community groups supporting people and neighbourhoods experiencing disadvantage.
Representatives from the Bristol City Robins Foundation said the funding will help maintain vital support for young people at a time when many continue to face challenges linked to opportunity, wellbeing and social connection.
