Bristol Green membership triples

The Green Party leader, Zack Polanski, who was in Bristol last week for an event attended by over 500 Green members and supporters, shared his excitement over the membership surge in Bristol.

Green Leader Zack Polanski said:

“When I visited last week, the excitement was palpable. This surge in local membership reflects that. The people of Bristol want change.

“When I was elected leader in September, I said that we’re not here to be disappointed with Labour. We’re here to replace them. And I was serious. Because while Labour talks about change, people can see in their weekly shop, their utility bills and crumbling services, Labour are offering more of the same.

“The Greens are the only real opposition left in British politics. Standing up for fair taxes, a liveable planet, and a future where compassion and courage matter more than corporate interests. People are understandably disillusioned, but we are here to make hope normal again.

“The tide is turning and no Labour seat is safe in Bristol anymore.”

Leader of the Green Group on Bristol City Council, Emma Edwards, said:

“Whether its Labour Councillors defecting or the thousands of new members, more and more people in Bristol are turning to the Greens for hope.

“This Labour government continues to offer no real solutions and refuses to stand up to Reform’s divisive rhetoric. Bristol Greens will continue to work tirelessly for our residents and the most marginalised in society. “A huge welcome to all our new members, and we hope you will join us.”
