Redcliffe & Temple BID support local hospitals and community this Christmas

Redcliffe & Temple Business Improvement District (BID) has given their support to local hospitals and their community this Christmas.

The BID is supporting Bristol & Weston Hospital Charity’s Christmas Star Concert, a carol concert at St Mary Redcliffe featuring performances from Gurt Lush Choir, Hannah More Primary School and more.

As part of their support, the BID has provided 150 free tickets for NHS staff, members of the community in Redcliffe and Temple, and pupils’ families at Hannah More Primary School.

The Christmas Star Concert is raising money for ten hospitals in Bristol and Weston, providing more moments of joy, comfort and hope to those who need it most.

Steve Bluff, head of Redcliffe & Temple BID, said: “Redcliffe & Temple Business Improvement District is delighted to be sponsoring this year’s Christmas Star concert being held in the heart of our community at St Mary Redcliffe Church.

“We are excited to be working with the team at Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity to make it an occasion to remember and to help them raise vital funds for our city’s hospitals.”

Since the first charity concert in 2013, the Christmas Star Concert has raised almost £54,000 for the NHS.

Elaine Gibson, philanthropy & partnerships manager at Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity, said: “It’s great that Redcliffe & Temple BID is supporting this event for its first year at St Mary Redcliffe and helping to make it a huge success.

“It’s always a magical evening of entertainment, as well as a really moving event, with speeches from our fundraisers, NHS staff and patients. We couldn’t make it so special without support from local businesses, so I want to extend a huge thank you to Redcliffe & Temple BID from everyone at the charity.”
