Manorbrook School in South Gloucestershire expansion announced

South Gloucestershire Council today announced the expansion of Manorbrook Primary School in Yate, as well as capital funding for the New Horizons Learning Centre.

The expansion of the school is part of the Lib Dem/ Labour Partnership’s ambitious school infrastructure project to bring the amount of school places in South Gloucestershire in line with need.

Labour Cllr Ian Boulton, Council Co-leader and Cabinet Member for Education, Skills, Employment and Business said:

“After years of failure to build school places to meet demand, I am delighted this Administration has today agreed further funding necessary to provide much needed school buildings.

We are committed to providing our children the best starts in life and today we have agreed the capital funding for the expansion of Manorbrook Primary School in Thornbury and for capital funding for the expansion of the New Horizons Learning Centre which will provide Special Educational Needs provision within South Gloucestershire, saving the council significant sums of money as a result of reducing the need to commission expensive private school places outside of the county.”
