Final 10 tables for charity banquet available this Valentine’s Day

Businesses tasked to show their love language – specifically Acts of Service to the Anti Banquet – this February 14th

This Valentine’s Day, the perfect match for local businesses is the Anti Banquet, the unique fundraising event on the day of the leap year, Thursday 29th February 2024. Hosted at Ashton Gate Stadium by Josh Eggleton and Team Love’s CIC Team Canteen, the event, which will raise vital funds for Bristol Local Food Fund and has already seen overwhelming support from the South West and beyond, now has only 10 tables left.

For any businesses thinking about coming forward to support, now is the time to snap up the unique opportunity to purchase tables, to support local charities and worthy causes. Presented by Bristolian legends Jayde Adams and Joe Sims, the Anti Banquet will turn the banquet scene on its head, uniting people to raise funds for Bristol’s food community initiatives and charities. The groundbreaking event aims to combat food inequality and enhance community cohesion through the power of local food.

With bosses set to roll their sleeves and get stuck in, businesses can also donate a table to one of the excellent local causes helping communities tackle food insecurity. C-Suite executives from sponsoring companies will be invited to join the kitchen or serve the guests as a member of the front of house team.

The Anti Banquet has seen an abundance of support already from the South West. Gareth Sweet, CEO of Sweet Projects, Andy Street, and Dean Wring of the Wring Group among many more businesses have shown a huge amount of support, all with the ambitious aim of raising £100,000 for Bristol Local Food Fund.

Around 700 attendees, including many food charity workers, and those being treated to the evening by their management team, will be invited to Ashton Gate for the Anti Banquet.

Bristol’s most exciting chefs will take charge of the kitchen, preparing a delectable dinner for the guests. Bristol’s Josh Eggleton will work alongside Peter Sanchez Iglesias, who runs two of Bristol’s most renowned restaurants; Michelin-starred Paco Tapas and Casa and Ben Harvey of the Bianchis Group. Cornwall’s Jude Kereama will join the line up, famous from his appearance on four series of the Great British Menu, reaching the final in 2021. Celebrity chef Simon Rimmer, perhaps best known as one half of the presenting team for Channel 4’s long-running Sunday Brunch will complete the kitchen line up, alongside the city’s CEOs. Pastry chef, Hannah Cately, who featured on Channel 4’s Bake Off: The Professionals will also join the impressive line-up.

Some brilliant chefs will be giving up their time to work alongside the leadership of Bristol businesses to create an amazing night for Bristol’s hard working charity sector, public sector teams and their own workforces. As the cost of living crisis worsens, we must secure the future of Bristol’s community food charities to make sure they can keep delivering their services to those most in need in our city.”

Programmed by Team Love, Team Canteen have curated an unforgettable lineup of comedy, music, and entertainment, featuring some of Bristol’s finest talents, including the Invisible Circus, Eva Lazarus and the 45s. Joe Sims and Jayde Adams will host, keeping guests entertained throughout the dinner. Not only will there be an evening of incredible acts, there will also be a raffle and a silent auction with prizes being donated by Soho House, Artists Residence, Wake The Tiger and many more.

The event has gathered support from sponsors such as Bristol Beer Factory, Accolade Wines and Arthur David, who are generously supporting the event.

Bristol also faces the reality of being one of the most ‘unequal’ cities in the UK, with 12% of its residents relying on food banks weekly and experiencing food insecurity. By participating in the Anti Banquet through purchasing and donating tables, businesses are supporting vital community food projects in Bristol, helping to safeguard the most vulnerable individuals in our community from food poverty.

Community Interest Company (CIC), Team Canteen channels support and resources from the local hospitality industry to play its part in reducing food insecurity in Bristol. Diversity, inclusion, participation and sustainability are at the heart of the organisation as it supports charities and projects in Bristol to increase access to healthy food.
