Bristol Fan Zone set for Women’s Rugby World Cup semi-final weekend
Weekend line-up features live Women’s Rugby World Cup semi-finals plus standout BBC Introducing performances from rising UK artists at Bristol’s Harbourside Fan Zone
Bristol’s official Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 Fan Zone returns to the Harbourside this weekend for its second and final weekend of celebration, with two unmissable semi-final clashes set to be screened live: Canada v New Zealand on Friday 19 September and England v France on Saturday 20 September.
Set against the scenic backdrop of Canon’s Marsh Amphitheatre, the free-to-enter Fan Zone will once again transform into a vibrant hub of world-class sport, live music, community spirit and local culture – offering something for all ages.
On Friday, the Fan Zone opens at 3:00pm, with a high-energy AE Dance workshop kicking things off. Live music follows with a highly anticipated performance from Hunny Buzz, a fast-rising indie-pop quartet making waves with their punchy surf-pop sound and emotionally raw lyricism. Fronted by Lyd Read, Hunny Buzz recently featured as a spotlight artist on BBC Introducing with James Threlfall and has earned support from BBC Radio 1’s Gemma Bradley, Channel 4’s Made in Chelsea and tastemaker publications such as Clunk Magazine, Atwood and New Age Magazine. Their track Now I Can Get Over You showcases the band’s knack for storytelling through heartbreak, cementing their place as one to watch.
Later in the evening, Frankie Masarik brings his signature set ahead of the night’s sporting highlight: Canada v New Zealand, kicking off at 7:00pm. The match will be preceded by BBC pre-match coverage from 6:30pm and AE Dance returns for a special halftime performance.
On Saturday, doors open at 11:00am for a full day of community-led entertainment. The programme begins with a high energy AE Dance workshop, followed by a soulful performance from SollÉ and a BBC Introducing spotlight set by Jo Hill – a Cheddar-born singer-songwriter with a nostalgic, storytelling style inspired by legends like Joni Mitchell, The Beatles and Simon & Garfunkel. Raised on tales and melody, Jo’s music bridges heartfelt introspection with contemporary influence and she’s quickly making a name for herself on the UK scene.
The early afternoon provides space for visitors to enjoy the Fan Zone’s many attractions and, for ticket holders, to make their way to the stadium area before the live broadcast of England v France begins at 3:30pm (with coverage from 3:00pm). AE Dance returns for halftime and, after the match, the stage lights up once more with live sets from Hannah Wood and Destiny, rounding off an unforgettable weekend of sport and sound.
Beyond the main stage and big screen, the Fan Zone offers something for everyone, from interactive “have-a-go” rugby sessions and hands-on creative workshops to a diverse array of dynamic street food offerings. A standout feature is the live mural in progress by Bristol-based artist Melo, which will be fully revealed on Saturday – a bold, colourful tribute to women, sport and the spirit of Bristol.
Former England international Amber Reed and rising Welsh star Jenna De Vera return as the weekend’s hosts, keeping fans informed and energised throughout both days.
The Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 Fan Zone is delivered in partnership with Visit West, Bristol City Centre BID, Bristol City Council, the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority, Redcliffe & Temple BID, and a wide network of cultural and community organisations across the city.
