Kingswood’s Old Plough Pub Prepares to Unveil £280,000 ‘Grandstand’ Sports Makeover
A popular Kingswood community pub is gearing up to enter a brand-new era later this month following a major £280,000 transformation.
The Old Plough, located at Westons Way, Kingswood, Bristol, BS15 9RR, closed its doors last month to undergo a sweeping overhaul. It is set to officially relaunch on Tuesday, 21st October, emerging as one of the area’s premier match-day destinations under Marston’s new sports-focused Grandstand concept.
Aiming to deliver a full stadium-style experience for local sports fans, the revamped venue features market-leading technology including massive high-definition screens, an immersive state-of-the-art sound system, and flexible tiered seating to ensure a clear view of the action from anywhere in the room.
The upgrade extends outdoors too. The pub’s beer garden has been refitted with its own external TV screens, backed up by the Marston’s ‘Order & Pay’ app so patrons do not have to brave the queues or miss a crucial moment of a game.
Beyond the tech, the pub is leaning heavily into local sporting roots. The interior has been styled with regional sports memorabilia, and management has put out a call for Kingswood residents to share historic photographs and items celebrating local sports stars and teams past and present.

Pub Partner George Hoarse said the team was thrilled to cater to the area’s passionate fanbase, providing a top-tier atmosphere for everything from football, rugby, and cricket to F1, darts, and horse racing.
Alongside traditional pub games like pool and regulation dartboards, the pub is rolling out a brand-new ‘Match Day Menu’ featuring hand-held bites such as chicken wings, burgers, and nachos, alongside draught beers available in 2-pint cups. Local sports clubs can also apply for a special ‘Black Card’, granting them exclusive team-night perks and rewards.
Positioned neatly for locals coming off a walk around nearby Westons Way playing fields or Cock Road Ridge nature reserve, the newly transformed Old Plough swings open its doors on 21st October. For more information or to book a table for the grand reopening, visit the Old Plough Bristol website.
