The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta returns to Ashton Court Estate this weekend

Running from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th August 2025 — and it’s set to be one of the most exciting weekends of the summer. What to Expect

Each day kicks off with a mass balloon ascent at around 6:00 AM, and another again around 6:00 PM, weather permitting. With over 100 hot air balloons expected, the skies over Bristol will be filled with colour and creativity — including special shapes and themed balloons that delight visitors of all ages.

Two major highlights are the Nightglow events on Friday and Saturday evenings, when tethered balloons light up in sync with music, followed by an epic fireworks finale.

The fiesta is more than just balloons — the festival village will be packed with food stalls, live arena shows, and a range of exhibitor stands and activities. Be sure to stop by the Children’s Hospice South West stand to support a fantastic local charity doing vital work, and check out Party Peeps, who will be there providing fun-filled entertainment for families and little ones. Many other local businesses, charities, and entertainers will also be present, bringing interactive games, crafts, merchandise, and more.

Getting There – Use Public Transport

Due to limited parking and large crowds, visitors are strongly encouraged to use public transport:

🚍 Shuttle Buses: Frequent shuttle buses will run between Bristol Temple Meads, Broad Quay (city centre), and Ashton Court.

🅿️ Long Ashton Park & Ride: Ideal for drivers — just a short walk or bus ride from the fiesta.

🚆 Train: Take the train to Bristol Temple Meads, then use the shuttle service.

🚲 Cycle or Walk: Ashton Court is accessible via cycle routes and walking paths, with bike parking available on-site.
