A brand-new addition to Bristol’s festive calendar, Santa O’Clock at Cabot Circus runs from 1–24 December and invites families into a magical world where time itself keeps Christmas glowing. Join Pendleton the clockmaker, Tockington the elf and Tickety-Twoo the snowy owl as they work together to restart the enchanted Wishmas Clock. Christmas at Tyntesfield – 1 December – 4 January
The festivities begin at the beautiful Tyntesfield estate, where Christmas is celebrated in enchanting style from 1 December right through to 4 January. This year’s decorations draw inspiration from classic fairy tales, filling the Victorian house and gardens with elegant touches and whimsical details. Visitors can enjoy festive concerts, seasonal craft workshops, Christmas trails and a charming shop full of gifts and treats. Experience Christmas at Avon Valley Adventure Park – 1–24 December
Running daily from 1–24 December, Avon Valley’s Christmastown is a festive world designed especially for families. Meet Stardust the reindeer and her friends, decorate cookies in Mrs Claus’s kitchen, wander through a magical illuminated forest and ride the mini Polar Express. Children can visit Santa’s Cabin and Toy Shop, while the whole family can enjoy three immersive theatrical shows that bring the season to life. Festive Illumination Trail at Old Down Country Park – 6–8, 12–24 & 27–28 December
The month continues to sparkle with Old Down Country Park’s Festive Illumination Trail, taking place on 6–8, 12–24, and 27–28 December. Now in its fourth year, the trail features glowing pathways, vibrant light displays and creative installations set throughout the park. With festive treats, creative activities and an all-new route for 2024, it’s a perfect winter escape for families, couples and anyone who loves the magic of Christmas lights.
Winter Wonderland at Wookey Hole – 6–7, 13–14 & 20–24 December
Another highlight of early and mid-December is Wookey Hole’s Winter Wonderland, running on 6–7, 13–14, and 20–24 December. Explore the famous caves illuminated with a festive underground light spectacular, meet Santa in his grotto and enjoy a magical Christmas circus show. With access to all attractions included, it’s a full day of festive excitement and wonder, ideal for families looking to make unforgettable seasonal memories.
Beer and Carols at Bristol Cathedral – 18 December
For a warm and joyful evening in the heart of the city, head to Bristol Cathedral on 18 December for Beer and Carols. Set on College Green, this popular event brings together the magnificent Cathedral Choir and the lively St Nicholas Band for an uplifting Christmas sing-along. With beer and warm seasonal drinks available, it’s a relaxed, community-spirited celebration that captures Bristol’s festive charm.
WILD: The Drone Light Show at Seat Unique Stadium – 20–23 December
