Made in Bristol Gift Fair Returns to Bristol Beacon This Year

Dates announced for Bristol’s biggest gathering of makers as Made in Bristol Gift Fair champions human creativity in the age of AI 

More than 200 independent makers will take over Bristol Beacon this winter as free-to-attend gift fair celebrates the people behind the products

At a time when artificial intelligence is reshaping how we create, consume and connect, Bristol’s biggest gathering of makers is returning with a simple message: human creativity matters.

Made in Bristol Gift Fair will return to Bristol Beacon across three dates this winter, bringing together more than 200 independent artists, designers and makers for a celebration of craftsmanship, creativity and community just in time for the festive season.

Taking place on Saturday 28 November, Sunday 6 December and Saturday 12 December between 10am – 4pm, the free-to-attend events will transform the Beacon’s Lantern Hall and Bridgehouse into a vibrant marketplace where every product comes with something increasingly rare – a human story.

Visitors will be able to meet the people behind the products, discover the skills and processes behind their work and buy directly from independent creatives whose livelihoods depend on making things by hand.

From ceramics, jewellery and textiles to illustration, homeware and printmaking, every stall represents hours of expertise, creativity and craftsmanship that cannot be replicated by an algorithm or mass-production line.

For almost two decades, Made in Bristol has championed independent makers across the city and beyond, creating opportunities for small creative businesses to thrive while helping shoppers discover meaningful alternatives to mass-produced gifting.

Bryony Morgan, Founder of Made in Bristol, said: “As technology becomes an ever bigger part of our lives, people are increasingly looking for connection, authenticity and experiences that feel genuinely human. That’s what Made in Bristol has always been about.

“Every maker at the Gift Fair has a story to tell. Every piece has been imagined, designed and created by a real person. In a world that can sometimes feel increasingly impersonal, we’re proud to celebrate creativity, craftsmanship and the extraordinary community of independent makers that exists here in Bristol.

“The Gift Fair is about meeting the people behind the products, understanding their craft and supporting local creative businesses that make our city such a vibrant place to live and work.”

Printmaker Steph Renshaw, who has exhibited at the Gift Fair for the past few years, and is leading the FFAiR campaign said: “Made in Bristol is unlike any other event because visitors genuinely want to know about the people behind the work. Some customers have been coming back to see me year after year.

“As an independent maker, opportunities like this are incredibly important. They allow us to connect directly with customers, share our stories and build relationships that simply don’t happen through online marketplaces.

“There’s something really powerful about people choosing to buy something handmade from the person who actually created it.”
