Avon Group’s support for local children’s charity reaches £150k
Avon Group, the Bristol-headquartered engineering and manufacturing group, has reached a significant milestone by raising a total of £150,000 for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
As one of CHSW’s leading Corporate Partners, Avon Group has supported the Charity since 2016, sponsoring a specialist nurse at their Charlton Farm hospice in North Somerset and these latest donations will continue to support this initiative.
This kind of support enables CHSW to provide expert care and support for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions across the region and is vital for the Charity which relies almost entirely on voluntary donations to provide its services, which include hospice days and hospice stays, as well as sibling support and end-of-life care.
Less than 11% of its annual £14 million running costs comes from government funding which is why Corporate Partnerships such as this are so important. Phil Morris, CEO at CHSW, said: “We are incredibly thankful to Avon Group for their continued generosity and unwavering commitment.
With the cost of a single nurse reaching around £45,000 per year, contributions like this are vital in helping us to deliver our specialist care and reach more children and families who need us. As a charity that relies so heavily on voluntary donations, Avon Group’s support truly makes a lasting and meaningful difference.
” Mark Rushin, Director and Owner of Avon Group, added: “Our journey began with a clear commitment to give back and support those who need it most. It’s always been important to us to partner with a charity where our support can truly make a meaningful impact.
We’re proud to stand alongside Children’s Hospice South West, an organisation that delivers exceptional care and compassion to children and young people with life-limiting conditions, as well as to their families and caregivers.
” “Our teams have worked so hard over the years to build our support to where it is today and every penny we give has meaning. I hope too that we can encourage more businesses to recognise the difference they can make – and support this amazing charity by becoming Corporate Partners.
” To help mark the incredible £150,000 milestone, Avon Group – for whom foam manufacturing is one of its areas of specialism – created a bespoke set of giant foam numbers, valued at £3,500, as a fun and visual way to celebrate the achievement.
The vibrant display will feature in a commemorative photo to be released on International Day of Charity (5 September) and has been donated to Charlton Farm as a lasting resource for events, celebrations and learning. Avon Group is a multi-faceted business specialising in the design and manufacture of high-performance components for industry including rubber mouldings, plastic injection parts, technical foams, seals, insulation and ducting systems; products used widely in the automotive, transport, aerosol and other specialist industrial markets.
