North Somerset Council Welcomes New Businesses to Marine Lake Plaza
North Somerset Council has announced the arrival of two new businesses at Marine Lake Plaza in Weston-super-Mare, set to operate from early April to September 2025.
Embers Sauna and Perret Neads A Coffee Hut will offer unique experiences to visitors, enhancing the plaza’s appeal.
Embers Sauna introduces a mobile, eco-friendly sauna, powered by a wood-burning stove, catering to cold-water swimmers and wellness enthusiasts. The sauna aims to provide a relaxing and rejuvenating space, fostering community connection through collaborations with local groups like Marine Lake Mudlarks and sea swimming clubs.
Owners Ed and Claire Charles envision a welcoming environment for both seasoned and first-time sauna users, emphasizing the combined benefits of heat therapy, cold-water swimming, and mindfulness.
Perret Neads A Coffee Hut, a family-run business, will offer freshly ground coffees, teas, and locally sourced food. Their menu includes sandwiches, toasties, salads, cakes, and handmade ice cream, with seasonal offerings and dog-friendly treats. Owners Emma and Paul Perret aim to create a relaxed, outdoor hub for friends and families, using local suppliers to ensure quality.
Councillor Mike Solomon expressed delight at the new additions, highlighting the sauna as a unique and exciting venture, and the coffee hut as a welcome amenity. He anticipates both businesses will significantly enhance the plaza’s appeal.
Marine Lake Plaza aims to become a key destination this season, offering both wellness and culinary experiences. Visitors can find more information on the businesses’ websites and social media pages.
Future plans for Marine Lake include improving walkways, steps, ramps, and public toilets, with work expected to conclude by March 2026.
