Free Live Music Night at The Greenbank in Easton to Support SWEDA
South West eating disorder charity SWEDA will launch its annual winter fundraising appeal with a free live music event upstairs at The Greenbank in Easton on Tuesday 1 December 2026.
The launch event kicks off the ‘Sing for SWEDA’ campaign, aiming to raise £4,000 in public donations through the Big Give match funding platform. Match funding will double every eligible online contribution, directly securing 180 additional specialist counselling sessions in 2027 for individuals across the South West.
Updated figures from national charity Beat estimate that 3.5 million people in the UK (around 1 in 20 individuals) live with an eating disorder, with demand for support services continuing to rise regionally.
Live Performance Lineup & Big Give Match Funding
The evening brings together prominent South West musicians for an acoustic showcase upstairs at the venue from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM:
-
Amy May Ellis: BBC Introducing favourite bringing warm, atmospheric folk.
-
Paul John Bailey: Blues and folk singer-songwriter.
-
Ro: Local folk storyteller.
Entry to The Greenbank launch is free, with attendees encouraged to donate directly via SWEDA’s official Big Give page during the week-long campaign window.

Supporting Recovery Across the Region
Gavin Osborn, Fundraising Manager at SWEDA, highlighted the importance of community involvement during the festive season:
“We’re so lucky that so many groups in Bristol have chosen to come together to Sing for SWEDA. Eating disorders and body image concerns touch so many lives, yet talking about these issues is incredibly difficult.
“Events like these help us bring the community together and raise awareness of SWEDA’s work in a fun, open and relaxed way. Please come along and donate if you can, any donation makes a huge difference, especially during the festive season.”
To have your contribution doubled, all donations must be made through SWEDA’s Big Give Campaign Page. To learn more about regional counselling services, visit SWEDA UK.
