Local hospice charities joining forces to encourage support

Children’s Hospice South West and Weston Hospicecare are 2 of 143 hospices across the country taking part in the ‘This is Hospice Care’ campaign, a national initiative facilitated by Hospice UK.

The campaign started earlier this year as a way to raise awareness of the vital role hospices play in communities and to shift public perceptions of hospice care. The campaign captured hearts and minds through a powerful TV advert in the spring based on real life hospice stories which is back on screens now. The goal is to encourage people to consider leaving a gift in their Will to support their local hospice, ensuring that these essential services can continue to provide their compassionate and specialist care for future generations.

Both CHSW and Weston Hospicecare support those with life-limiting conditions, and their families. CHSW has 3 children’s hospices including Charlton Farm in Wraxall, north Somerset. Paul Courtney, Director of Fundraising at CHSW said; “We’re thrilled to be part of this important campaign along with so many other hospices across the country including our friends at Weston Hospicecare.

At CHSW 1 in 4 of the babies, children and young people that we support are funded by local people choosing to leave a gift in their Will to CHSW. A gift in your Will really can make a huge difference and become a lifeline for a local family.” A spokesperson from Weston Hospicecare said;

“We’re proud to be part of the National Hospice Legacy Campaign. Gifts in Wills are a lifeline to Weston Hospicecare, helping to provide so much more than end-of-life care, but a full breadth of support – from pain relief and counselling to family support and respite – now and in the future.
